The Fondazione Potenza Tamini presents the Progetto Giovani Talenti 2026, an initiative dedicated to supporting emerging generations of artists and fostering dialogue across diverse contemporary creative practices.
For its 2026 edition, the project launches a competition for poets under 36, open to all nationalities, inviting the submission of an unpublished poem inspired by the work of Gianmaria Potenza.
The competition invites participants to engage directly with the imagery of the artist’s work, translating sensations, atmospheres, and visual impressions into poetic form through personal interpretation. There are no stylistic constraints. Submissions must be written in Italian and must be original and unpublished. Each participant may submit one poem only, with a maximum length of 25 lines.
Entries will be evaluated by a jury composed of distinguished figures in the fields of art and contemporary poetry: alongside Gianmaria Potenza, the panel includes art critic, writer, and poet Enzo Santese; poet and translator Sabrina De Canio, co-director of the Piccolo Museo della Poesia and active internationally; essayist and poet Francesca Brandes; and Arianna Silvestrini, active in education and independent publishing and a member of the editorial board of Wetlands Books (recipient of the Feltrinelli Prize 2026).
The winner will receive a cash prize of €1,000, along with round-trip travel to Venice, a two-night stay, and the publication of a dedicated chapbook (plaquette).
The project forms part of the public programme accompanying the exhibition “Gianmaria Potenza. Io, Venezia”, hosted at Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art in Venice from 3 October to 22 November 2026, marking the artist’s 90th birthday.
