On Wednesday, 3 September 2025 at 7:00 PM, in the Regione del Veneto / Veneto Film Commission Space at the Hotel Excelsior, during the 82. Venice International Film Festival, the Regional Council of Veneto, in collaboration with the Potenza Tamini Foundation, presents a cultural event dedicated to Gianmaria Potenza and the dialogue between art, the region, and new generations of creatives.
At the heart of the evening is the screening of the short film Gianmaria Potenza. Colours of My Dreams, directed by Alessandro Miolo. The film – already winner of the BIO & ARTS AWARD at the 2024 Montecatini International Short Film Festival – offers an intimate and evocative portrait of the artist, accompanying the viewer on a visual journey through the places of his everyday life and the imaginary spaces of his poetic world. With a narrative suspended between dream and reality, the short delicately and profoundly reflects the dreamlike and playful qualities that have always characterised Potenza’s work.
Following its Venetian premiere on 16 May at M9 – Museum of the 20th Century in Mestre, the 3 September screening offers a new opportunity for audiences in Venice to view the film, this time enriched by a live conversation between artist Gianmaria Potenza and the young director Alessandro Miolo. The discussion will be moderated by Valeria Loddo, Artistic Director of the Potenza Tamini Foundation.
The Potenza Tamini Foundation was established to preserve and promote the work of Gianmaria Potenza and to support interdisciplinary dialogue among creative generations, with particular attention to young talents. In this sense, the title of the event, A Dialogue Between Creative Generations, directly reflects the Foundation’s mission: to build bridges between different experiences, languages, and visions, with art as a shared ground for expression and encounter.
The initiative also connects ideally to the exhibition Gianmaria Potenza. Elaborating New Codes, currently on view at Palazzo Ferro Fini, the seat of the Regional Council of Veneto. Alongside the short film and other initiatives promoted by the Foundation, the exhibition contributes to outlining a narrative and critical path through Potenza’s work, highlighting its relevance and its capacity to engage with the present.
